In this section you will explore how human rights and development are intertwined and how human rights principles serve as a pillar for development through Human Rights-Based Approach.
By the end of this Module, learners should be able to:
Describe the importance of the HRBA concept ‘accountability and rule of law’ and recognize its instrumental value and know how to apply the concept in practice as a means to increase the accountability of development interventions.
Describe the concepts of non-discrimination and equal treatment as fundamental principles of a HRBA and maintream the principles of equality and nondiscrimination in everyday life and development interventions.
Describe the importance of the concepts of Participation and Empowerment and their instrumental value for development and apply the principle of Participation & Empowerment in development interventions while recognizing its limits
